Iomega upgrades eGo hard drive line

Chicago (IL) – Iomega has introduced an upgraded line of eGo USB hard drives. The new units are available in various colors and capacities, including the 250/320GB Ruby Red, the 320GB sparkling silver and a 320GB midnight blue. The 500GB Iomega eGo BlackBelt – available in June – will ship with a matching power grip belt.
The 2.5-inch portable eGo drives are covered by a 16 mm anodized aluminum shell and weigh approximately 200 grams. Critical data is protected by Iomega’s Drop Guard, which shields the units from drops up to 51 inches.
The eGo drives ship with a “Y” cable and feature McAfee’s VirusScan Plus, along with a number of native backup options, including QuikProtect, EMC Retrospect Express amd MozyHome Online.
The 250GB Ruby Red eGo model is priced at $84.99; while the 320GB Ruby Red, Midnight Blue and Silver eGo models retail at $94.99. The 500GB Ruby Red – available in June – will sell for $134.99. The 500GB BlackBelt model is expected to debut at $139.99.
