ColorSplash the iPhone App
Nick | Oct 20, 2009 | Comments 0
ColorSplash is an iPhone app developed by Hendrik Kueck that allows you to quickly and easily select and edit the color in your photographs. Available since June 16, 2009, ColorSplash has become a tremendously popular app. Users are thrilled with the product, particularly the ease of use, functional interface and the quality of results.
ColorSplash performs color desaturation, allowing users to convert photographs to black and white while selecting certain areas to remain colored. This process can be done quickly and easily using the touch screen interface. Users can select to turn the whole photo black and white and then ‘paint’ with their finger to color in specific areas. The use of the application takes only a few minutes to learn and little more time to master. A free video tutorial is included with the app to help beginners with the basics. The ColorSplash app can quickly give photos a dramatic and appealing look.
Even with iPhone’s simple and sometimes unimpressive camera, ColorSplash can work wonders. Basic and run-of-the-mill photographs can be given a second life and generate much more interest with the use of the app. Users find that the app encourages them to look for an excuse to use it, and that they take much more photos than they normally would for the opportunity to use it.
The latest release, version 1.3, has been available since June 16, 2009 and has sold over 12,000 downloads. App users have overwhelmingly approved of it and those that have downloaded it
ColorSplash has received a wealth of positive reviews on the app store. Buyers are impressed that such an inexpensive and easy-to-use app can do so much. Before the app came out people would have to have a working knowledge of Photoshop to achieve the same desaturation effects. ColorSplash is much easier to use and far more affordable than Photoshop or other photo editing software. The majority of reviews posted on the app store and elsewhere online express a very positive view of ColorSplash and reviewers are consistently impressed with how effective it is and how easy it is to use.
