Bhalessa IGNOU planning to set up community radio Programme

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Special Study Centre 1264_D Bhalessa is all set to start a new Community radio station in Bhalessa to provide tele-based educational facilities to the distance learners enrolled in this centre.
This was disclosed by IGNOU authorities. The centre is providing education to disadvantaged students of the terrain from 2006. The centre is galvanized by the local people, administration.
Formerly, the centre was set up with the efforts of Local NGO-National Students Welfare Association (NSWA) and was first Special study centre under Jammu region. The centre got a support from the IGNOU authorities to cover the disadvantaged masses of Bhalessa.
In September 2006, NSWA members got together to think of the ways in which they can play a significant role for the qualitative and quantitative improvement of the education in this otherwise backward and trouble torn area of Jammu and Kashmir.
IGNOU team headed by Sh. G H Imrapur and Dr. Joginder Yadav flanked on the proposal of Sadaket Malik Chairman National Students Welfare Association make formal announcement
The centre got enrolled the dropouts and disadvantaged students who became prey of turmoil.
Now a days the centre is veering to collaborate with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for the setting up of tele-based educational terminals under the scheme of KU-National beam.
The centre is already recommended by IGNOU authorities for the setting up of a Community radio station in Bhalessa.
